About

Kailee Bal is an acrylic painter working in New Orleans. Bal grew up in Baltimore and moved to Appalachia within the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia in 2015. She received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts at Shepherd University in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Fine Arts at The University of New Orleans. Her paintings investigate private moments in public spaces, following an illustrative manner of linear perspective depicting architectural subjects through a moody color palette evoking an uncanny liminal environment.

Bal’s work has been exhibited at The Bridge Gallery in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and has published works in Sans Merci and Change7 magazines. Select works have also been exhibited in the “Emerging Artists Exhibit” juried by Lee Nowell-Wilson at the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick, Maryland and the “Art and Earth” juried exhibition in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
